These photographs are from a new series called Gone but Not Forgotten.
When everything shut down because of Covid, outdoors was one of the few safe places to be. Like so many other people I started walking and paying more attention to the world around me. My walks were visual adventures that helped me escape the fear of the pandemic and the tedium that had become everyday life.
As I walked through the seasons, I chronicled my life by photographing the changing sky, trees, and landscapes. In the fall and winter, I collected a random assortment of dead plants. I did not know the names of these plants, but I was drawn to the elegance of their shapes and variety of their textures.
